Odoo AI Agents That Finish the Work, Not Just Report It
Odoo AI agents are software workers that run inside your Odoo database. They watch your records, follow the rules you set, and hand your team finished work: a drafted follow-up, a matched payment, a reorder ready to approve.
Odoo 19 ships agent features in the core. We build the ones it does not, inside the same system that already runs your sales, inventory and accounting. No second platform, and no data copied to a third-party tool.

- Rules before autonomy

The agents we are asked for most
An agent is a worker with a narrow job and clear rules. Each one below is scoped to a single decision that happens the same way every week.
Sales follow-up agent
- Drafts replies and follow-ups on open quotations
- Uses the customer history and your own price rules
- Your salesperson reviews and sends, never the agent
Accounting agent
- Matches incoming payments to open invoices
- Flags a mismatch with a suggested correction
- Prepares the month-end checklist before you ask
Inventory agent
- Watches stock movement against real lead times
- Flags what runs out before the next PO lands
- Drafts the reorder for a buyer to approve
Data hygiene and triage
- Catches duplicate contacts and missing tax IDs
- Finds incomplete product records before they skew reporting
- Reads, tags and routes tickets, drafting a first reply
What AI is already built into Odoo 19

How we put an agent into production
Rules first, then autonomy. An agent earns the right to act on its own by being right while a person is still checking.
- Find the repeating decision. We look for the judgement your team makes the same way every week. Anything genuinely novel stays with a person.
- Write the rule before the model. If we cannot write down how the decision is made, it is not ready to automate. This step kills more agent ideas than it approves, which is the point.
- Build it inside Odoo. The agent reads and writes the same records your team does, so there is no second platform to license and no copy of your data sitting elsewhere.
- Run it in suggest-only, then measure. The agent proposes and a person disposes, and every suggestion is logged against what the human actually did. If it is not at least as good, it does not graduate.
- Grant autonomy narrowly, then monitor. Permission is given per action, not per agent, because drafting a follow-up is not the same risk as issuing a credit note. We watch the exception rate and tune as the business changes.

Why build agents with Index World
We build integrations the way youβd want them done in-house, with deep Odoo knowledge, clean architecture, and ownership all the way through go-live and beyond.
- Server actions, scheduled jobs and custom logic have been our work since 2018. An agent is that discipline with a model attached, not a new trade.
- If version 19 covers your case natively, we say so and configure it. That conversation costs you less and it is how we would want to be treated.
- Agents run in your database, on your data, under your permissions. If you stop working with us, nothing switches off.
- Every agent we ship has a named human who approves what matters. Automation should remove the typing, not the responsibility.
Agents sit on top of work we already do: Odoo implementation, customization, integration and ongoing support. If you want your own tools to query Odoo directly, see the Odoo MCP server.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Odoo have AI agents?
Odoo 19 ships AI features, and custom agents can go much further: drafting sales follow-ups, reconciling invoices, watching stock risk. We build them inside your own Odoo database, wired to your workflows and access rules.
What AI features are built into Odoo 18 and 19?
Odoo 18 spread AI text assists across the interface and refined invoice OCR and predictive lead scoring. Odoo 19 goes further, with agents in the core, AI fields, and AI-powered server actions covered in Odoo’s release notes. On version 17 or older, an upgrade unlocks most of this.
Can we use ChatGPT or Claude with our Odoo?
Yes. Our AI MCP Connector links any MCP-capable assistant to your Odoo, so your team can query live data in plain language. It costs $20 on the Odoo App Store and is free directly from us.
Is AI lead scoring available in Odoo Community edition?
No, predictive lead scoring is an Enterprise feature. On Community, a custom agent can fill the gap: we build scoring around your own win history and rules, which often fits better than the generic model anyway.
Do AI agents work with our existing Odoo setup?
Yes, agents run inside your current Odoo database and respect your access rules. If your instance is on an older version, we typically pair the work with an upgrade to Odoo 19, where the AI tooling is strongest.
Is our business data used to train outside models?
No. Agents use your data to do their job, not to train third-party models. Data handling is agreed in writing before anything is built.
What does an Odoo AI agent cost?
Fixed fee per agent after a scoping session. The price depends on the workflow’s complexity, not on hours. HERO support plans cover agent maintenance after delivery.
Can an AI agent make mistakes?
It can, which is why every agent starts in review mode and earns autonomy only where its accuracy is proven on your data. You decide what stays human-approved.
Which decision would you automate first?
Bring one decision your team makes the same way every week. In a free scoping session we will tell you honestly whether Odoo 19 already covers it, whether an agent is worth building, or whether it belongs with a person.
